What is Speech Lisp?
This seeming malady in which individuals are unable to produce a specific speech sound (or sounds), known invariably as speech lisp disorder (see short PDF), isn't in reality so bad for the very young (until around five years of age). In fact, many children lisp naturally as they learn to speak and produce specific sounds and it is not uncommon for children to grow out of a slight lisp.
For olderchildren and up who have a frontal speech lisp disorder (or impediment), move tongue to correct "S" position. Use tongue so tip is just behind teeth, up against roof of mouth. Don't press tongue against teeth, but keep tongue fairly relaxed, not pressing in hard manner.
S and Z Syllables, etc.
First, pronouncing (mentally) a good /ssss/ and good /zzzz/ sounds with vowels. One might begin going over these mentally, then ask someone to hear pronunciation verbally (at least one time in answer) with short vowels and then use the long (vowels). It's notable to then go through all positions. Usually starting with broken syllables (s + a) and then move to blended ones (sa), etc. in order to fix speech lisp disorder (or impediment).
Please remember that (in case one were using other prescription medications) it's always a good thing to first consult with a healthcare practitioner (or doctor) before starting any new treatment (either naturopathic or homeopathic doctor, best).
