Osteoporosis Natural Health Healing TipsVitamin D 3 (see vitamins, etc.) helps to improve calcium absorption. Recommended dosage at around 5,000IU daily for treatment of osteoporosis.
Boron Boron may be also beneficial in the treatment of osteoporosis, especially in the case of vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium deficiency. One study found that boron supplementation as an isolated nutrient was not useful in terms of preventing bone loss. However, fruits, vegetables, soybeans (sprouted, organic; best), and nuts can be rich sources of boron, but the level depends on the soil in which it is grown. Safe daily dosage estimated to be between 1 and 10 mg. Sodium borate and boron chelated with glycinate, aspartate, or citrate are the most common forms used in dietary supplementals. Toxic effects appear at doses of about 100 mg. A fatal dose in adults is 15 to 20 g and in children 3 to 6 g. Continuous intakes of small amounts can cause accumulative toxicity, so infrequent dosing recommendable, rather than constant usage.
Please remember that (in case one were using other prescription medications) it's always a good thing to first consult with a healthcare practitioner (or doctor) before starting any new treatment (either naturopathic or homeopathic doctor, best).
